About Paula Joy Welter
Photographer, folk artist, and singer/songwriter, Paula Joy Welter -- based for many years in Sacramento, CA and now based in Longview, WA -- is happily drawing and painting with abandon, influenced forever by the fact that she's a child of the 60's. (She attributes some inspiration to getting started to artist friend, Elaine Hollows, who once shared with her this concept: Don't create from a place of judgment; create from a place of resonance from within.)
Paula Joy comes later than sooner to drawing and watercolor. She first studied light through a camera lens, earning an A.S. in photography from CCSF in the 70's. The never-ending delight she finds in light's transcending power inspires her now to play with color and line through painting, as well.
A side note: Paula Joy first heard the muses speak through music. Her original, folk-influenced songs are available on two CD's. Her songs, for the tender of heart, continue to receive occasional airplay on national and international folk radio stations. "Morning Light," her first CD, is available on iTunes, Spotify, iTunes.. Her second CD, Still Hidden Places, and also Morning Light, are each available as mailed CD's. Just email to request information on how to purchase them directly!
Creativity is a circle of giving and receiving. Enjoy, and feel free to leave her comments!
